The search phrase "najnowsze wiadomosci motoryzacyjne" increasingly points Polish readers this week to a single, market-moving development: Hon Hai / Foxconn confirmed that talks with state-backed ElectroMobility Poland (EMP) are at an advanced stage and that the Taiwanese group intends to build an EV and technology hub centred on Poland.
What happened
On 30 October 2026 at Hon Hai Technology Day (HHTD2026) in Taipei, Foxconn president Young Liu said the company has chosen Poland as a European technology hub and that negotiations with Electromobility Poland are "already at a very advanced stage." He added that the project will create a European technological value chain around electric vehicles. The statement was published by PAP on 30 October 2026.
Polish business press and market sources report the EMP–Foxconn tie-up is approaching signature of a final agreement, with officials indicating the binding deal could be signed in November or December 2026. ElectroMobility Poland and Foxconn are expected to form a joint vehicle- and R&D-focused project at Jaworzno, with construction scheduled to start in 2027 and first cars targeted for the end of 2029.
Numbers and timeline
EMP has outlined initial plant capacity plans and jobs figures in statements reported by Bankier.pl: an initial manufacturing capability of about 120,000 cars a year, with modular expansion to as much as 360,000 vehicles if demand rises; the project is expected to generate roughly 4,500 jobs at the factory plus up to 1,000 roles at a planned R&D centre. Funding cited by EMP includes KPO (the National Recovery Plan) contributions and the recent NFOŚiGW transfer of nearly PLN 4.5bn to EMP as equity.
