Infineon Technologies and Qualcomm Technologies signed a technology agreement on 2 November 2026 to integrate an Infineon microcontroller‑based subsystem with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride and Ride Flex reference platforms for central car computers in software‑defined vehicles (SDVs).

Deal details

The Nov. 2 press release says the subsystem is designed to “operate alongside Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride and Ride Flex reference platforms” and is built around an Infineon AURIX™ microcontroller with Infineon OPTIREG™ power management; a dedicated Infineon software package pre‑integrates firmware for safety and monitoring functions.

Infineon described the collaboration as combining Qualcomm’s high‑performance SoC and platform capabilities with Infineon’s hardware and software for safety management, connectivity and memory management — aiming to provide a streamlined path for automakers and Tier‑1 suppliers building central vehicle computers.

Why it matters for Europe and CEE suppliers

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride is already positioned as a leading reference architecture for ADAS, cockpit and combined ADAS‑to‑cockpit solutions; widening the ecosystem with an MCU subsystem from a major European chipmaker shortens integration work for OEMs and Tier‑1s.

Industry analysts note the move helps de‑risk one of the key integration points in SDV architectures — the coordination between high‑performance AI compute and the deterministic, safety‑critical control layer that monitors vehicle behaviour.
