Croatia’s latest električni automobil poticaji scheme — the public call EnU‑2/26 — opens for applications on 5 November 2026 at 09:00 through the eFZOEU portal, with a total envelope of €20 million aimed at accelerating private electric‑vehicle purchases.

What the scheme offers

The public call (EnU‑2/26) allocates €20,000,000 for private citizens and covers new electric passenger cars (category M1) and a range of L‑category electric vehicles. For M1 cars, the fund will pay up to 40% of the vehicle price: up to €9,000 where the car’s price with VAT is up to €35,000, and up to €7,000 for models priced above €35,000 up to a ceiling of €62,500 (price limits include VAT). Vehicles costing more than €62,500 with VAT are ineligible. The Fond expects the budget to subsidise roughly 3,000 new vehicles.

How to apply and key rules

Applications must be submitted electronically via the eFZOEU system using NIAS credentials; processing is on a first‑come, first‑served basis until funds or the calendar year are exhausted. Each eligible citizen may apply for a subsidy for one vehicle only. Purchases by financial leasing are accepted but operational leasing is not. Prepayments made from 1 January 2026 are acceptable under the call’s rules.

What this means for the market

The EnU‑2/26 award levels and the 40% cap target lower‑priced EVs particularly: the highest grant (€9,000) applies to vehicles up to €35,000, making many mainstream BEVs more affordable for Croatian buyers. The €20m envelope and an estimated 3,000‑car uptake mean the scheme is significant but finite — buyers should prepare documentation and be ready to submit at the portal opening, because allocations are handled by order of receipt.
