The Czech Republic remains one of Central Europe's most productive automotive trade hubs, and the density of its supplier network is the backbone of that position. Numerous suppliers produce automotive components for factories in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe, keeping parts moving across the continent on a daily basis. The industrial base is anchored at the heavy end by Tatra, which manufactures heavy-duty trucks for both civilian and military use.

Now the supply chain is reaching further upstream. Semiconductor specialist onsemi has selected the Czech Republic to establish end-to-end silicon carbide production for advanced power semiconductors. Silicon carbide is a critical material for high-power, high-temperature applications and is extremely difficult to produce — onsemi is one of the only companies in the world with the ability to manufacture SiC-based semiconductors. Bringing that capability to Czechia places a strategically scarce material at the centre of Europe's component corridors.

The paperwork that accompanies those flows is being streamlined in parallel. Customs specialist Conex is deploying its AI agents to the market, automating tariff classification and the extraction of data from commercial and logistics documents for the preparation of customs formalities. For traders moving components across Czech borders, that means less manual handling of documents on every consignment.
