DP World has launched pilot operations at a new logistics and export centre for the BMW Group in the Ostrava Airport Multimodal Park (Mošnov). The facility — developed by Gridarch and handed to DP World for early use in June 2026 — is designed to act as a strategic export hub serving BMW’s overseas manufacturing plants and will ramp up capacity in the coming months.
Size, scope and infrastructure
The project’s third development phase covers about 124,000 m² in three halls, with the largest building occupying roughly 74,000 m² (more than half a kilometre long). Investment into phase three exceeded CZK 3 billion, and DP World began test operations in July 2026 after taking early possession of the halls in June. The centre is planned to create up to 750 jobs once fully commissioned.
Key engineering and logistics features include a dedicated rail siding that links the site to an intermodal container terminal about two kilometres away, a container depot on-site, specialised container handling docks and infrastructure for rapid cross-dock, consolidation and export packing operations. The site also includes a 400 kWp photovoltaic installation with roofspace reserved for up to c.2.3 MWp of additional solar generation, and the development meets BREEAM Very Good standards.
Operator, role and timeline
DP World was chosen by BMW Group to operate logistics services at the Mošnov centre; Gridarch is the developer. According to Gridarch’s February 2026 press release, DP World’s Country Manager in Czechia said the partnership combines DP World’s global integrated supply‑chain expertise with the site’s multimodal connectivity and that hiring had already started. Gridarch’s CEO confirmed construction and handover timetables pointing to summer 2026 completion and full operational build‑out toward the end of the year.
