Central and Eastern Europe continues to gain ground in Europe's supply chain landscape, and Czechia stands out as one of the region's strongest cards. A new report finds the country particularly well suited to industries that need moderate amounts of energy, skilled staff, and quick permits, and names automotive and electric vehicle supply chains, advanced manufacturing, and precision engineering among the natural fits. For an industry rethinking where its components come from, that combination is becoming hard to ignore.
The electronics side of the supply chain underlines the trend. The global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) market is forecast to grow at a compound annual rate of 6.51 percent between 2026 and 2031, reaching USD 909.32 billion, with outsourcing, near-shoring, and EV demand cited as the main drivers. Within Europe, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Romania are gaining medical-device and automotive programmes, while segments such as telematics and rugged industrial gateways add further momentum for suppliers with a regional footprint.
The outlook is not without risks, however. Analysts warn that a burst AI bubble could wipe out unstable suppliers and raise costs across the automotive sector. Carmakers still need the technology, the analysis notes, but should choose their partners carefully — a caution that plays to financially stable suppliers in proven locations, a profile that many CEE-based manufacturers already match.
Domestic demand, meanwhile, is holding up. According to the Czech Statistical Office, retail sales in the Czech Republic excluding motor vehicles rose 0.1 percent in real terms month on month in September 2026, and were up 4.1 percent year on year — a steady consumer backdrop behind the country's industrial push.
For dealers and buyers, a shifting supply map ultimately means more choice and sharper competition on the forecourt, which makes comparing offers and prices a smart move before any purchase.
